A lipoma is a common soft tissue growth or lump composed of fat cells that is not malignant. It is usually found just beneath the skin and has a rubbery feel to it. It slides easily when handled. Lipomas can develop anywhere on the body and are usually painless. Even though they are mostly harmless and don’t need to be treated, some people choose to have them removed for comfort or aesthetic purposes. Doughy, Rubber-like Texture: Lipomas usually feel doughy or rubbery to the touch.
Moveable: When touched, they can readily move beneath the skin.
