Patient preparation:
The patient is positioned on the procedure table, and the knee area is cleaned and sterilized. An intravenous line may be inserted for administering medications and fluids.

Imaging guidance : Fluoroscopy, ultrasound and other imaging techniques are used to visualize the geniculate arteries and guide the procedure of GAE.
Catheter insertion :A very thin and flexible catheter is inserted into an artery, usually in the groin or wrist.
Artery navigation: The catheter is carefully navigated through the artery to reach the geniculate arteries in the knee.
Embolization: Embolic agents are injected through the catheter into the geniculate arteries. The embolic agents reduce blood flow to the arteries thus helping to alleviate chronic knee pain.
Post-Procedure care :Patients are typically provided with pain medications and post-procedure care instructions.
